Comments: "Parks Canada and the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding, the purpose of which is to enable Parks Canada and NCC to work together to secure property within or around the boundaries or proposed boundaries of Canada's National Parks/Reserves and National Marine Conservation Areas/Reserves. The initiative is designed to add lands or conserve property so as to maintain or improve the ecological integrity or to expand the park size. The MOU serves as a mechanism to broker transactions with private land owners to acquire land for national park purposes. A copy of the MOU is attached. Private lands were recently acquired and added to St Lawrence Island National Park in the Thousand Islands area using the MOU."
